As a housing provider we don’t want to lose our tenants, however, we understand that people’s lives and needs change. If you decide to end your tenancy you need to let us know in writing, giving us at least 28 days’ notice.
During the notice period your Neighbourhood Housing Officer will make an appointment to come out and visit you in your home. During this appointment we will discuss when and how to hand in your keys and we will check the condition of your property and discuss any repair work that may need to be carried out so that your property is ready for the next tenant to move in.
You will also need to make sure you have a clear rent account and remove all items from both inside your home and from any externals areas such as gardens and yards. If we have to clean and clear items from your home or carry out any repairs that are not due to wear and tear you will be charged for this.
If you have any concerns or feedback you can let your Neighbourhood Housing Officer know during this visit.
