How can we help you?
Do you have concerns about benefits? Are you looking for work but finding it hard to get by? If so … come and speak to us – Andrew is here to help!
BCT Welfare Benefits & Employability Support
Andrew Young has already provided welfare and benefit advice to many of our tenants but now he can help you with employability and training, to help increase job opportunities for local people.
Andrew is very excited about his role and we would urge anyone with concerns or queries about welfare, benefits, employment or training to contact him ASAP so he can start to offer support. He said:
“I’ve been creating links with organisations such as Newcastle Futures, Princes Trust, Jobs Employment and Training (JET) and Newcastle City Learning to find out more about what each organisation does, and what they can offer locally for residents. There are some exciting opportunities coming up and we are working to make sure that residents have access to as many quality training and employment opportunities as possible.
If you are a Byker Community Trust resident and looking for work or training, or are facing barriers to employment, they should arrange to see me by calling freephone 0800 533542 and I will be more than happy to make an appointment to look at the issue further.
I am still dealing with welfare benefit issues too and people can still come to me if they need assistance there.”
Many residents have benefited greatly from the help Andrew has offered so much so they have shared their compliments with Byker Community Trust to let us know where we have done something great but also to help us improve in various areas which we welcome across all areas of the services we offer. Mr Howarth of Houlet Garth said:
“Andrew has helped me enormously, I couldn’t have done it without him. In fact, we couldn’t do without him. Great work Andrew!”
