Byker History Detectives

FreeDo you like stories from the past? Are you aged between 8 – 14?
Byker is full of history! Almost 2000 years ago the Romans built Hadrian’s Wall, right next to where Byker Wall is today. And it was the Vikings who came up with the name.
Want to find out more? Join us in the Easter holidays and take part in some fun activities:
- Take part in a photo competition
- Dress up as a historic character
- Meet a Roman soldier who will take you on a fun history walk
- Get an Arts Award
- Meet one of the architects who built the Byker estate
When: Easter Holidays: Weekdays incl. Good Friday and Easter Monday, 10am – 2pm (bring a packed lunch)
Where: 23 Spires Lane, Byker, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE6 2NT (opposite St Lawrence Primary School reception)
Cost: Free.
