Planners from Newcastle City Council have approved plans to develop 24 new affordable homes for rent in Byker.

Plans were unveiled this week for St Michael’s church in the heart of Byker to be transformed into a state-of-the-art youth and community hub.

The iconic Byker estate in Newcastle upon Tyne is set to benefit from a major external neighbourhood improvement programme, thanks to investment from Byker Community Trust (BCT), part of Karbon Homes.

Local contractor and regeneration specialists RE:GEN Group have completed a free of charge refurbishment on the Byker Pantry as part of their ongoing commitment to local residents.

We have successfully converted three commercial units on the Estate into four modern, affordable homes.
