Reducing anti-social behaviour

On 28 April, those living at an address on Raby Street were evicted from the property due to anti-social behaviour from members of the household. We have been investigating cases of anti-social behaviour linked to the address since 2020.

Despite all intervention attempts and offers of support, anti-social behaviour both at the property and linked to the members of the household has continued. This left us no choice other than to apply for eviction.

In November 2025, the courts granted us an eviction order. Initially this was suspended in December 2025, to allow members of the household the opportunity to change their behaviour. However, due to the levels of anti social behaviour and criminality, the courts permitted the eviction to go ahead.

We understand the recent months have been difficult for residents due to this persistent anti-social behaviour, and we hope this result offers some relief.

Since 2020, multiple residents and stakeholders have reported cases of anti-social behaviour to either Karbon or the police, and that evidence has been vital in achieving this successful result.

Reaching positive outcomes unfortunately can often take a long time, which we understand can be very distressing for those involved and affected, and we’d like to thank the community for their support and patience throughout the process.

We hope this outcome illustrates how seriously we take persistent anti-social behaviour, which we know negatively impacts the lives of other residents. Over the last six years, this anti-social behaviour has also had an impact on the resources of Karbon Homes, Northumbria Police and other stakeholders.

We have secured the property but understand that there are still risks present. No person other than Karbon Homes colleagues or our representatives should have access to this property. We ask that if anyone is seen acting suspiciously by the property or within the property, the police and Karbon Homes are contacted immediately.
