Byker in Bloom 2026

Byker in Bloom is back!

We're once again joining together with Newcastle City Council for the annual celebration of the green spaces throughout Byker.

From Shields Road to Raby Street and beyond, the competition is open to everyone in the Byker Ward.

We've also had a refresh of the categories this year meaning there's something for everyone - whether you have a garden, balcony or communal garden.

2026 Categories

Best eco-friendly garden/space (think upcycling, reusing and repurposing materials)

Best back garden/space

Best community-led garden/space

Best front garden/space

Best young gardener (under 18)

Most creative garden/space (including balconies)
